They are currently looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis as they look to foster a modern, forward-looking culture to help achieve their long terms objectives. The Job You’ll Do;
New product/process and product/process change and maintenance
Participate in cross-functional team meetings in the evaluation and development of new products or changes related to current products to ensure the business remains compliant with customer and legislative requirements.
Manage inspection and test activities associated with NPI and product change requirements.
Collates and submits customer PPAP documentation
Support the audit of product and process at key milestone phases
Support and monitor quality KPI’s through the project phase to ensure that project targets are being achieved with evidence.
Non-conformance & concern management
Co-ordinate customer, supplier and internal quality concerns, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues quickly and efficiently
Manage identification and implementation of effective containment, corrective and preventive actions using the Global 8D approach.
Attend daily Quality meetings to review outcomes from the previous day and identifies intended activities for the current day.
Attend project core team meetings as the quality representative, to provide status updates and ensure that risk is being managed effectively.
Lead and develop the quality technician pool in ongoing manufacturing process audit and skill development.
Implement customer-specific requirements (CSRs) as applicable.
Lead and performs QMS, product, and process and system audits to assure ongoing compliance to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 requirements.
Support on time calibration of applicable measuring equipment.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and contributes to Business improvement initiatives as needed.
Support a team of Quality Technicians and Quality Inspectors in their day-to-day activities as and when required;
Deliver training and toolbox talks related to quality activities.
Comply with the requirements of the company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.
About You;
Quality experience in a manufacturing environment, including the use of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA.
Background in a fabrication, welding or heavy engineering environment would be beneficial.
Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge and experience of inspection processes and equipment.
Use of root cause and corrective action tools, e.g. 8D, Cause and effect diagram, 5Whys, 5W&H, Parato diagram.
IATF 16949:2016 or IS09001 Lead Auditor desirable, but not essential.
Good degree of computer skills.
Confident, with strong communication skills.
Strong work ethic, eager to take on a challenge.
