MTrec’s New Client Opportunity

Our client is an established, highly prestigious, and successful blue-chip manufacturing company based in the Cramlington area. They are now looking for a Product Development Engineer to join their team on a full time permanent basis. If you meet the person specification for the role, please apply below.

The role you will be doing

  • Responsible for the NPI of bespoke projects, product customisation, range extensions, and standard product improvements, taking products from initial enquiry to production, including costing, concept and detail design, prototyping and production drawings and work instructions.

  • Aim to exceed the expectations of our customers and clients, through the creation of well designed, thoughtful, elegant products.

  • Provide a first-class, timely service to our internal customers and partners, including Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing and Quality teams.

  • Actively seek opportunities to develop our products and processes in order to improve the products’ market appeal, profitability and quality.

  • May be required to represent the Company by attending meetings, visiting clients’ premises and conducting site surveys.

  • Follow health and safety instructions provided and safeguard your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions.

  • Any other reasonable task as requested by your line manager.

About You

  • Ideally you will have completed a Product Design or Industrial Design degree course, or you may have a HNC/HND and you have developed from manufacturing into design.

  • You will have 3D design experience with some experience/knowledge of Solidworks.

  • Experience of design and development in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software.

  • Highly numerate, with strong IT skills and able to demonstrate an excellent standard of communication, both written and verbal.

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.

  • Clean, full UK driving licence

  • Experience of the creation of manufacturing drawings and clear and concise work instructions.

  • Experience of the creation of 3D visuals.

  • Experience of CNC Programming.
