Our client are specialists in their market sector, they are now looking for a permanent Mechanically biased Maintenance Technician.

The Job you’ll do

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains manufacturing and facility equipment.

  • Performs electrical troubleshooting which includes variable frequency drives and basic troubleshooting of PLC and CNC controlled equipment.

  • Responsible for assisting contractors with the electrical installation of new, used, and relocated equipment per applicable electrical and building codes.

  • Responsible for planning, generating bills of material, and purchasing materials for facility projects.

  • Assists Site Manager to establish and then administer and support PM programs.

  • Responsible for managing critical spare parts inventories for production equipment

  • Performs facility upgrades or repairs which could involve carpentry, plumbing, roof repair, and painting.

  • Performs duties as specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches or charts.

  • Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.

  • Performs all work with adherence to safety procedures and applicable codes.

  • Maintains daily log of activities performed.

  • Assists Site Manager in establishing Operator Training.

  • Will be the primary trainer after “Train the Trainer” activities have taken place.

  • Be available for after hours call in for equipment downtime resolution as needed.

  • Assists as required, in maintaining plant safety and security.

  • Attends appropriate/required educational training programs.

  • Leads, participates in, and supports continuous improvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as required.

About You

  • This position requires a high school diploma with a certification from a trade school, college, or formal technical education.

  • Must have three-to-five years’ experience in an industrial maintenance position.

  • Must have a demonstrated ability to operate hand and powered tools as well as strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics and CAD equipment drawings.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform basic math calculations.

  • Must be a self-starter and work under little direction.

  • Must be able to communicate well with a variety of internal teams and external vendors and contractors.

  • Ability to lift, carry and handle objects weighing 50-to-100 pounds. Climbing ladders and working in confined spaces is required.

  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment and aerial platform equipment, working at a high height.

  • Ability to travel as needed for training in UK and Europe.
