Job description

 The Company

Our client is a market leading manufacturing company. Due to growth, they are now looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer.

The Role

  • To ensure processes are available to meet customer and production requirements.

  • Support production and facilitate continuous improvement on all existing products and processes.

  • Process development and optimization, assess and establish manufacturing processes for both new and existing products in accordance with customer specifications. Optimize process parameters and tooling to improve efficiency and quality. Conduct design for manufacturability analysis to ensure designs are optimized for production.

  • Quality assurance, investigate and resolve quality issues related to processes. Work closely with quality assurance teams to conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Continuous improvement, utilise Lean Manufacturing, internal KPI and yield metrics to drive improvements. Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing processes. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality.

  • Documentation and compliance, develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow charts and standard operating procedures. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Training and support, provide training and technical support to production staff and technicians. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including NPI, production and quality, to address technical issues and improve processes. Support production and operations management to meet customer orders.

  • Project management, manage projects related to the introduction of new products and processes. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment.

The Person

  • Must have experience in a similar role.

  • Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in an Engineering discipline.

  • Computer literate including Microsoft office.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Hands on approach and results orientated.

  • Good interpersonal skills with staff at all levels.
