The Job You’ll Do;

  • Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.  This may involve conducting time and motion studies on new and existing processes

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

  • Seek quotes for prices of component parts, services or machines which achieve the objectives listed above.

  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

  • Responsible for producing factory lay-out and floorplan reflecting the desired process flow paths, using AutoCAD or similar

  • Responsible for maintaining work centres, cost centres and machine capacity available times on ERP

  • Analyse factory output and operator efficiencies to improve output

  • Maintain company standard times for future costing and current efficiency output

  • Identify factory bottlenecks to increase throughput

  • Analyse idle times and advise on improvements [Line balancing]

  • Where appropriate, provide training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.

  • With the Production Management Team, develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.

  • Trouble shoot production concerns and facilitate cross functional teams to lead and implement improvements required by determining root cause, developing solutions and finally leading implementation.

  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.

About You;

  • Minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing/production/industrial engineering role.

  • CAD and experience of Standardised Working is essential.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles ( desirable)

  • Commercial awareness

  • The ability to work well under pressure within an agreed timeline.

  • Problem-solving skills & IT skills
