MTrec’s New Opportunity:
MTrec are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Newcastle, who are looking to recruit a new Maintenance Fitter to their team on a temporary basis, with the chance to go permanent. You would be responsible for the day to day pro-active and reactive fault-finding diagnosis of work equipment and facilities combined with planned preventative maintenance. The Job You’ll Do:
Responsible for the day to day pro-active and reactive fault-finding diagnosis of work equipment and facilities combined with planned preventative maintenance.
Supporting manufacturing proactively ensuring all work equipment (i.e. machines, fixed and portable) are kept in a safe and operational state
Safely carrying out fault finding diagnosis on a range of work equipment to establish if repairs can be carried out internally or by external suppliers
Ensuring manufacturing waste is managed effectively and bins are emptied in a timely manner
Reacting to a range of facilities issues and establishing timely and efficient solutions
Working with contractors to ensure external services are utilised appropriately and also contractors working on site do so with permission and safely
Monitoring stock levels of spares, consumables and other items to ensure appropriate levels are maintained. Re-ordering stock when required
Carrying out dynamic risk assessments on any facilities and maintenance tasks where required
Report all health and safety issues to the appropriate department and take action where practicable
About you:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
Previous technical knowledge of fault-finding diagnosis of mechanical processes
Basic maintenance skills
Basic electrical safety skills
Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment
Basic experience of working on work equipment
Basic experience of working on building facilities
