MTrec are proudly representing our prestigious engineering and manufacturing client, in their search for an experienced Lead Commissioning Engineer based from their Sunderland site. The successful applicant will be responsible for a team of four Commissioning Engineers, so previous management, supervisory or team leading experience is essential.

The Job you will do:

  • Coordination of field-based Installation & Commissioning activities.

  • Coordinate third party resources during the I&C phase ensuring skill levels match the requirements of the task in hand.

  • Development and implementation of commissioning procedures and best practices.

  • Develop and implement processes to streamline the I&C phase of projects.

  • Develop, implement, and improve commissioning documentation.

  • Assist and coordinate with management to improve I&C lead times.

  • Prepare RAMS for site based I&C activities.

  • Undertake site surveys.

  • Support customers in resolving any issues that arise through the I&C phase of the projects.

  • Work closely with the I&C Engineers to ensure that field challenges faced are documented and feedback provided to engineering.

  • Understand the PLC programs used in company systems to help troubleshoot any issues that arise

  • Provide support to the Regional Aftermarket Lead and Proposals team when preparing bids for I&C

  • Build and establish good work relationship with customers to facilitate improved customer retention.

  • Ensure compliance with all general and company policies when carrying out job duties.

  • Be involved with any possible ‘lessons learned’ review from any failed bids.

  • Support the continuous improvement program and embrace as part of standard work.

  • To work in accordance with company procedures and work instructions – and be active in feedback and development of such.

  • Support the team with client quotations.

  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and system education.

About you:

  • Knowledge of PLC software (Siemens preferred but not exclusive)

  • Strong technical skills electrical and mechanical

  • Research and analytical skills

  • Organisational skills

  • Communication skills, including the ability to explain clearly, listen to the feedback of clients – and relay this to colleagues.

  • Team working skills.

  • Be computer literate and able to use a wide range of software.

  • Take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by what they do or do not do.
