Job description

The Company

A market leading engineering company undergrowing a significant period of growth now require an Import/Export Coordinator.

 

The Role

  • Manage volumes linked to trade compliance alongside communication with relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure procedures and policies are followed.

  • Track, trace, coordinate and follow through to resolution necessary documentation to have all trade compliance and customs compliance processes in order.

  • Log necessary information onto relevant logs, spreadsheets, and systems in timely manner.

  • Ensure accuracy is up to the best standard.

  • Any related administration processes.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, as necessary.

  • Fill in and submit relevant GOV forms.

  • Trade compliance and customs and export control department covers following areas:

  • Country of origin/country of origin maintenance: Using templates provided to obtain and provide declarations. Updating and maintaining the Country of Origin records and tracker spreadsheet/ERP SAP. Handling notices from suppliers of changes to their provided supplier declaration. Where needed, calculating Country of Origin.

  • Export control classification and licenses: Master data management and coordination. Annual updates on changes. License application for certain controlled products.  Annual license returns.

  • Goods description: Master data management and coordination. Drawing review. Master safety data sheet review. Annual updates on changes.

  • Export controls and licenses: Export blocks and releases. License application for certain controlled products. Annual license returns. Sanctioned party list screening. Manual dispatch. Export clearance. Export processes. HMRC MSS reports review. HMRC liaison. HMRC forms completion. Reports and analysis of the area. Tariff coding. Master data management and coordination.  Annual updates on changes.

  • Import controls and licenses: Import clearances. Import processes. HMRC MSS reports review. HMRC liaison. HMRC forms completion. License application for certain controlled products if necessary, depending on GOV requirements should there be a need. Reports and Analysis of the area.

 

The Person

  • Import/Export experience is essential.

  • Good working knowledge of Customs/International Trade procedures.

  • Used to working as part of a team and with the ability to provide clear instruction to others where applicable.

  • Fully conversant with MS Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Highly organised and efficient in your day-to-day duties.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.

  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

  • Interest and experience in developing and implementing process improvements.
