The Job You’ll Do.

  • Routine boiler servicing and maintenance.

  • Preparation of Steam, CHP and Hot Water boilers for annual insurance surveys, and/or NDE examinations.

  • Prepare and undertake hydraulic testing on boilers and/or economisers.

  • Clean boilers internally and externally – Fire and/or Water side.

  • Rebuild and reinstatement of Steam, CHP and Hot Water boilers on successful completion of annual insurance surveys, and/or NDE examinations.

  • Rebuild and reinstatement of boilers and/or economisers on successful completion of hydraulic testing.

  • Refractory repairs – minor – reinstatement & removal. Of refractory.

  • Liaise with client and respective insurance examiners as necessary to ensure all equipment is ready for examination as and when required and examinations and inspections are completed in a timely manner.

  • Liaise with the service co-ordinator or other departments as necessary and when or where required to ensure any works or materials required outside of our initial job scope are progressed or quoted at the earliest opportunity to the client, to prevent undue delays in returning equipment to operation.

  • Responsible for ensuring the steam, CHP or Hot Water boiler and any associated plant are returned to service in liaison with the client and is fully operational and safe to operate.

  • Responsible for the safety of any trainee or apprentice engineers assigned to them.

  • Responsible for ensuring all waste materials are disposed of in the proper manner and the boiler house is left clean and tidy to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Responsible for ensuring any issues outstanding to be resolved on completion of the work are reported to the relevant person.

  • Responsible for the completion and submission of all documentation as necessary within the agreed timescales, i.e. job reports, expenses, mileage etc.

About You.

  • A Mechanical Qualification is essential

  • Ideally you will have experience & knowledge of steam boilers and associated plant.

  • You will have completed a recognised apprenticeship training programme.

  • You must have a full UK Driving Licence – no more than 3 points.

  • Confined Space Medium Risk Qualification would be advantageous

  • Recognised Safety Passport Qualification – CCNSG.

  • It would be beneficial, however not essential if you hold one of the following Gas Qualifications: CCN1 and CODNCO1, or COCN1, CIGA1, ICPN1, CDGA1, TPCP1A, BMP1, CONGLP1PD.

  • Electrical experience and knowledge and/or qualification.
