The Job You’ll Do.
Interpreting customer specifications and requirements to produce high-quality designs.
Creating and issuing accurate quotes to customers.
Acting as the key point of contact for project-related queries.
Designing safe and effective low voltage control systems, including bill of materials management.
Producing engineering drawings (schematics, layouts, harnesses) and technical documentation.
Supporting production teams and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
Conducting site visits, inspections, and customer meetings as required.
Ensuring compliance with relevant safety and engineering standards.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and best practices.
The Person.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial electrical control system design.
Strong background in industrial control panels, ideally within heavy industrial machinery.
Proficiency with electrical CAD software for drafting and design.
Experience in customer-facing roles and project coordination.
Ability to create and manage technical and engineering documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to specify components and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
Competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Engineering qualification at Level 3 or equivalent experience (apprenticeship/training acceptable).
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Professional registration (IEng or CEng).
Experience with PLC software programming and commissioning.
Knowledge of functional safety and related standards.
Previous experience in wiring, site installation, or machinery commissioning.
HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
