The Job You’ll Do.

  • Interpreting customer specifications and requirements to produce high-quality designs.

  • Creating and issuing accurate quotes to customers.

  • Acting as the key point of contact for project-related queries.

  • Designing safe and effective low voltage control systems, including bill of materials management.

  • Producing engineering drawings (schematics, layouts, harnesses) and technical documentation.

  • Supporting production teams and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Conducting site visits, inspections, and customer meetings as required.

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant safety and engineering standards.

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and best practices.

The Person.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial electrical control system design.

  • Strong background in industrial control panels, ideally within heavy industrial machinery.

  • Proficiency with electrical CAD software for drafting and design.

  • Experience in customer-facing roles and project coordination.

  • Ability to create and manage technical and engineering documentation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to specify components and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.

  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Engineering qualification at Level 3 or equivalent experience (apprenticeship/training acceptable).

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Professional registration (IEng or CEng).

  • Experience with PLC software programming and commissioning.

  • Knowledge of functional safety and related standards.

  • Previous experience in wiring, site installation, or machinery commissioning.

  • HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
