MTrec are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Washington, who are looking to recruit a new Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician from an Armed Forces background, to their growing organisation. The successful candidate would be working as a key part of the Engineering team, preferably with an electrical bias, ensuring that there is adequate maintenance support to cover the factory. Those with a Maintenance / Engineering background in the Armed Forces, Royal Navy, RAF, Army/REME, are encouraged to apply as this role provides a fantastic opportunity for flexibly minded individuals to transition into industry.
The Job You’ll Do.
Maintain site plant and equipment to the required business and legal standards, improving machine efficiency and preventing unplanned downtime.
Support the development of efficiency improvements in line with the objectives of the factory.
Continuously develop and support the Planned Preventative Maintenance System, implementing and recommending improvements that will reduce further downtime.
Complete checklists allocated on a selective basis to ensure adherence to plan.
Support the successful introduction of new manufacturing equipment and services.
Liaise with production equipment suppliers and engineering sub-contractors to organise repairs and breakdowns that cannot be accomplished on site.
The Person.
Armed Forces background.
Possession of a full current UK driving license would be preferable although not essential.
Possession of a compex (DSEAR) qualification would be advantageous.
Possession of Health and Safety qualification i.e. IOSH would be advantageous.
Experience of PLC fault finding, preferably on Siemens S7/S5 and Allen Bradley, Siemens, Yaskawa, Omron and Control Techniques drive systems.
Worked at heights using access equipment.
Experience of working with three phase/single phase circuits and intrinsically safe circuits.
