Job Specification

The Job you’ll do

  • Maintain the smooth running of supply to Customers. 
  • Ensure material is ready for customer schedule/order dates and request any material required to cover schedules/orders from stock control. 
  • Plan ahead to limit potential issues for both internal and external customers. 
  • Also responsible for dealing with customer queries regarding account.
  • Raise job cards for requirements up to 2 weeks ahead for planner.
  • Check customer schedules up to 6 weeks ahead (weekly) to ensure supply is covered.
  • Daily calls with customers and suppliers, (highlight potential issues)
  • Place orders with suppliers.
  • Monitoring daily delivery performance.
  • Answer general customer queries/issues over the telephone or email in a timely manner.
  • Check off loads against schedule - ensure no issues.
  • Update delivery performance monitor.
  • Deal with day to day queries, i.e. reject stock at customer, supplying POD’S, additional deliveries (where necessary), Overdues list (if any), chasing wagons, chasing deliveries required from supplier.
  • Reduce old stocks.
  • Queries regarding invoices and credits.
  • Setting up new parts, CQC’s when required.
  • Trial requirements.
  • Ensure requirements are covered on regular basis between monthly orders.
  • Raise jobs for re-works.
  • Liaise with Planning Manager on daily requirements to establish delivery quantities and times.

  • Good IT skills using Microsoft packages Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Very Good Sales / Telephone techniques.
  • Good Negotiation Skills.
  • Experience and qualifications normally associated with successful performance of role.
  • Good GCSE grades with a minimum grade C in English and Math’s.
  • Experience of dealing with large / demanding customers preferable.
