The Job You’ll Do;

• To drive the development and implementation of the Health & Safety Plan to provide an optimum health and safety-working environment for the site.
• To actively promote best practice, liaising closely with other Sites, HSE staff and other external regulatory bodies and to keep abreast of impending legislative changes and ensure and advise on compliance with the required standards.
• To update the management team of the implications of impending legislative changes for the business, both in H&S and environmental management.
• Working closely with the Management Team the EHS Manager will develop a pro-active Health and Safety culture, ensuring Managers/Supervisors are supported and developed in their Health and Safety activities.
• To assist in the development of relevant systems to ensure the investigation of accidents, working with the Insurance Companies and developing the Insurance Protocol to improve the Company’s accident claim record through efficient substantiation of the circumstances.
• To ensure Health and Safety activities are carried out and adequately documented and that a through audit process is in place
• To liaise with Occupational Health advisor in ensuring a pro-active, healthy environment.
• To represent the Company on external bodies and working parties.
• Advising the management team on aspects of Good Environmental Management/Best Practice.
• Ensuring all statutory requirements are met regarding environmental Management , monitoring and waste disposal .
• Compliance to A2 permit
• Facilitating projects to advance best environmental practice from a Health and Safety perspective such as development of a system in accordance with ISO 14001 and 45001 an sustainability initiatives
• To carry out/develop/facilitate appropriate training of line managers and employees on Environmental and H&S issues including inductions, annual training programs and first aid requirements.

About You;

• Experience within an environmental, health & safety manager position.
• High degree of awareness of the importance of health and safety issues.
• Experience in the development of an effective management system in line with the ISO 14001 & 45001 standards
• Continuous improvement experience.
