MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious specialist manufacturing client, based in Stoke-on-Trent, by recruiting a permanent Shunting operative to join their team. A successful candidate will be responsible for driving, loading and unloading tankers and trailers on site at Stoke.

Job Specification
The Job You’ll Do;
- Working on our yard and tanker wash / prep area.
- Drive tankers on site with new Terberg tractor units, off-loading, wash tankers in preparation for loading, flush vehicle pumps, take samples to be tested, daily tanker checks to ensure the vehicle is safe to use, and complete daily housekeeping checks.
- Wash and dry the tanker pots using pressurised water /soap through spinners and dry with hot air to ensure the pots are clean and ready to receive the next product.
- Connecting tanks to a pigging line system in order to take the oil to the tanker loading arms, ensure the correct product is loaded in the correct pots, and ensure correct quantities are loaded.
- Other duties may include supporting other areas in the business, such as blending operation, as and when required.
About You;
- Flexible working attitude, to work a 3-shift system and to work overtime if required.
- Experience of working within yard operation, shunting, or HGV driving would be advantageous.
- An in-date, external counterbalance forklift licence would be advantageous but not essential.
- The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
- Please note the role requires working at heights (to access the top of tankers) and working outdoors.
Working Hours; Rotating 3-week shift pattern:
- AM shift = Tues – Sat 6.00am – 14.00pm
- Night shift = Sun – Thurs 22.00pm – 6.00am
- PM shift = Mon – Fri 14.00pm – 22.00pm
- In addition to the above hours, there is an additional agreement to work 1 in 6 Monday AM shift (6.00am-14.00pm).
